Business as usual for Christchurch and Nelson/Tasman regions following quakes

It is business as usual for the both the Nelson/Tasman and Christchurch regions following the recent earthquakes near Kaikoura.

The Nelson region is still accessible and all attractions and activities, including within the ever-popular Abel Tasman National Park (pictured above), are operational, and accommodation continues to be available as normal, while in Christchurch (pictured below) tourism operators are open and operating as usual, with the airport, hotels, car and campervan hire companies, conference and meeting venues and visitor attractions in Christchurch all operating as normal, and damage in the Christchurch CBD appearing to be minimal.

The popular visitor centres of Hanmer Springs and Kaikoura are currently inaccessible by road and rail from either centre; road and inter-island sea travellers should refer to the following for the most up-to-date information: NZTransportAgency, Bluebridge and Interislander.
