Daily Telegraph readers still enamoured with New Zealand

New Zealand’s has again picked up the ‘Best Country’ award – for the fourth consecutive year – at the 2015/16 Daily Telegraph (UK)  Travel Awards, with the country voted into top spot by the large annual reader survey, which attracted over 75,000 votes this year.

The Telegraph issued its own list of suggestions as to why New Zealand keeps topping their poll, naming 26 highlights that included “landscapes that make you want to applaud”, “magnificent Maori culture”, “It’s one of the ultimate places for cycling”, “You’re never far from the sea”, and more.

Elsewhere in the awards Capetown was named the world’s best city, while the Maldives and South Africa placed second and third respectively behind New Zealand in the best country stakes.
