Curator’s House

Nestled on the edge of the Botanic Gardens is the picturesque heritage classed Curator’s House. The restaurant is a stunning backdrop to enjoy all the delicious fare on offer – they serve fresh, local produce in Spanish traditional dishes – with the best garden views around. Specialities include authentic tapas to share over a glass of wine, or the hearty slow-roasted NZ spring lamb shoulder and their famous seafood paella. Dine outdoors in the garden courtyards in summer or at a table in one of the intimate rooms by the fireplace in winter. This moody space is also a great place for private group dining. Stroll through the Curator’s House demonstration fruit and vegetable garden while chefs pick fresh produce for the menu. Centrally located near the museum, this is a great place to stop for lunch, dinner and tapas, seven days a week. In 2020 the owners celebrate 20 years at Curator’s House and the building turns 100 years.
