As the work of Cristchurch’s Re:START the Heart Trust draws to a close, they’re celebrating the story of the city’s world famous and iconic transitional shipping container mall with a farewell photography exhibition.
Giving an exclusive, behind-the-scenes insight into how the brightly-coloured and iconic inner city mall was created in the central city’s Red Zone, 61 Days to Re:START: An Exhibition in Photos will run for the final weeks of the Re:START the Heart Trust’s operation, from April 12th to the 30th.
Named after the mere two months it took to create the mall from the day the 64 shipping containers arrived in Lyttelton aboard the Mol Summer, this free exhibition gives visitors the chance to experience the journey of bringing retail back to the central city via what became a world famous shopping centre, with behind-the-scenes photos of and detailed information on the temporary, six-month solution that went on to last five-and-a-half-years.
You can visit the exhibition on site at Re:START at the former Kathmandu site, behind Lululemon and beside Ballantynes.
Opening hours: 10am – 4pm, 7 days (closed Good Friday, Easter Sunday and open from 1pm on Anzac Day)
