One of the most popular events on the Kiwi food and wine calendar, the Bluff Oyster & Food Festival is a celebration of the world’s most revered bivalve mollusc.
Held at the end of the South Island on the waterfront of the seaside port town of Bluff (on the doorstep of NZ’s most famous oyster beds) this annual institution and day-long festival celebrates the world’s tastiest oysters. Bluff oysters are large, plump and juicy and there’s no better way to enjoy them than amid the merry mayhem of this event. Don’t like oysters? There’s also a bounty of other seafood and wild foods on offer, as well as craft beers, fine wines, and more. The festival runs for seven hours of live music, food and oyster-based competitions before the party kicks on at local pubs.
