Kaikoura’s Seafest this year set for October the 7th, is a celebration of the seafood that gives it the town its name, but also offers an excellent time for those who aren’t so keen on fish, with the event powering ahead for 2017 in a tribute to the resilience of the Kaikoura community bouncing back from last year’s earthquake.
The festival is a spectacular taste, sight and sound extravaganza for those who enjoy good food, good company and a good time. Festival stalls offer an abundant variety of food and beverages – fresh, tasty seafood (some of the world’s best!) is a natural focus but there’s plenty for determined landlubbers as well. The food, wines, and beverages featured are predominantly from the Kaikoura, Marlborough, and Canterbury regions, with guest appearances from Nelson and the West Coast. All those good eats can be enjoyed alongside continuous entertainment on the Big Top stage throughout the day, stuff for the kids, live music, a Beer School, cuisine demonstrations, and plenty of colourful characters.
