Bluebridge Cook Strait Ferry

 |
Experience a taste of warm Kiwi hospitality when you cruise Cook Strait with the proudly 100% New Zealand owned Bluebridge ferry service. With stunning scenery, friendly service, free big screen movies and a choice of sailings every day between Wellington and Picton, there’s no better way for you and your vehicle to travel Cook Strait.
Launched in 2003, Bluebridge currently operates two passenger ships between Wellington and Picton - the Santa Regina and its sister ship the Monte Stello, which joined the service in December 2006.
The vessels sail up to four times a day, 364 days a year, between state-of-the-art terminals in central Wellington and Picton.
Our on-board services include comfortable lounge areas where passengers can watch free big screen movies or sit back, relax and enjoy the journey.
The lounge bar provides a relaxing setting to enjoy a glass of fragrant New Zealand wine or one of the many choices of Kiwi beers on offer.
Our kiosks stock all the essentials for Cook Strait travel — snacks, magazines, games and postcards. The kiosk is also where you can buy a great Wellington roasted coffee: long black, latte, flat white? You choose!
The cafés offer a choice of hearty plated meals, hot chips and pies, or fresh sandwiches and baking, at reasonable prices.
Outdoor areas allow for a bit of fresh air and an up-close look at some of New Zealand's most stunning scenery.
Work stations provide space for you to unpack your laptop and catch up on some business en route. You can even use the pay phone to call friends and family, providing the ship is in a coverage area.
The journey between New Zealand's North and South Islands takes you through what is undoubtedly some of the world's most stunning scenery.
From the dynamic, hilly cityscape of Wellington Harbour through to the breathtaking Marlborough Sounds, this is a trip made up of spectacular contrasts. And as you sail the short stretch of open water between Wellington Heads and Tory Channel, it pays to look out for dolphins, whales and other wildlife that often keep our ferries company.
From check in through to on-board hospitality, we know a thing or two about a great Kiwi welcome – for the Bluebridge team, it’s all about making your journey a truly memorable one.
