The Sleeping God Canyon
The North Island’s highest waterfall … and New Zealand’s biggest canyoning adventure! Only 1½ hours from Auckland, a great adventure awaits you. Located near Thames in the Coromandel Peninsula, the Sleeping God Gorge drops 300 metres over a series of 12 waterfalls ranging from 10 to 70 metres high. Sheer vertical fun, crashing waterfalls and deep dark pools in breathtaking scenery are all guaranteed! This is the ultimate canyoning exploration!
Blue Canyon
There are about 18 waterfalls ranging from 2 to 25 metres. The water has carved perfect pools into the rock, creating the most amazing shapes. You jump, hydro slide and abseil your way down the stream following a giant staircase made of waterfalls and pools – this is the best, most varied and exciting canyoning adventure in Auckland!
Full instructions are given. The activity can be tailored from easy to challenging – big jumps and slides are optional and you will always be in control of your own descent while abseiling. You can also choose to be lowered by your guide.
