Jessie Price from Perth, Australia back to stories

Published: June 09, 2010

Jessie Price from Perth made sure she did it all when she visited New Zealand this year, from canyon swinging to more sedate mud baths and massages.

Most amazing gastronomic experience: Fresh crayfish in Kaikoura

The show-stopping view that took your breath away: Waking up to a sunrise in a Bach on the beach in Collingwood

The adrenaline-rush that you'll never forget: Canyon swing in Queenstown

Most blissfully relaxing moment: Having a massage at Le Spa, Queenstown

The cultural experience that broadened your mind: Road-trip around the east coast, North Island & visiting Whangarei where the film ‘Whale Rider’ was filmed

The experience you'll tell your grand-kids about: White water rafting at Peel Forest, Geraldine

Places you’d go back to again: Nelson & Lake Tekapo

Places with the most interesting locals: Stewart Island!

What surprised you the most about New Zealand? The scenery, very different to Australia!

Your best advice for other travelers: You really don’t have to spend a fortune to have a good time. Try camping / campervans to keep costs down and buy food from supermarkets to cook your own meals. Appreciate the scenery and make sure you chat to the locals.

What was your lasting impression of New Zealand, the youngest country on earth… A very beautiful diverse country

When did you visit New Zealand – or are you here now? January – March 2009

How long did you stay for? Two and a half months
