    • Our aerodrome has an interesting history and this exhibition tells it from inception through to today's activities. From famous visitors, such as Kingsford Smith, tragedy, aerial displays, RNZAF exercises, to sky diving, microlight flights and stunt flying (where you fly the plane, a Pitts Special). There are some funny, quirky, stories such as having to clear sheep from the paddock so a plane could take off or land. We also had a plane service to Wellington for some years - sadly it no longer exists. Activities for the young at heart. Model planes and a tandem parachute will be on show.
