Car sharing is a great budget option for travelling New Zealand – and it’s not only light on your wallet. When taking advantage of car sharing facilities you’re also doing your bit for the environment and getting to know like-minded travellers.

Try, for example, Carpool New Zealand, a nationwide organisation which lists people who offer rides and people looking for rides, or look into cityhop, a self-service car share company that has cars parked in Auckland’s CBD, Wellington and Christchurch which members can hire by the hour, day or week.
