Get ready for the hot pools at Franz Josef. Yay! The multi-million dollar pools will open in the heart of Franz Josef Village, West Coast next month, and I can’t wait! I’ve had a sneak preview – they’re looking fab, nestled amongst the trees. All you West Coasters can happily boast about your hot pools complex built in native forest. I was amazed by it all and kept thinking after travelling, rafting, or having an active day on the Franz Josef Glacier it’s nice to know those hot pools await you.
I can’t think of a better way to relax and unwind than soaking in a hot pool nestled in native bush – can you? Whether you stay for an hour, a day, or opt for a return pass (I'm in for the return, being a lover of spas!) the choice is yours. The first phase of the development opens with three main hot pools and three private pools, so families, groups and couples can enjoy what’s on offer. The biggest of the three main pools will be an eye-catcher, with the lighting in the pool designed to change colour. All pools will be equipped with back-lighting to create reflections. It will sure look impressive at night! The 3.5 metre lit glacier wall at the entrance to the complex is stunning! I just wanted to reach out and touch it! The floors will be too, once the complex has been completed and opens for visitors. It's nice to know my footsies won't get cold! Even the massage room has been perfectly placed to captivate the stunning view of the rainforest, which made me instantly feel relaxed the minute I entered the room. Bring it on! The Glacier Hot Pools will be fed from pure glacier water and cleaned daily. And the pools are conveniently located just off Cron St. What more could you ask for? I’m counting the days until opening. I reckon it will be the ultimate place to unwind!
