Are you looking for an unforgettable experience in one of the most pristine natural environments on earth? A brand-new kayaking trip has just been launched in Harrison Cove, within Milford Sound in Fiordland, a very special part of New Zealand’s South Island.
Trips depart from the popular visitor attraction Milford Discovery Centre & Milford Deep Underwater Observatory and are run by Southern Discoveries, an experienced local tour operator which also offers boat cruises in Milford Sound.
The new scenic kayaking trips are small-group adventures with a maximum of 12 people per trip, led by experienced guides who are incredibly knowledgeable about the region’s precious wildlife and majestic landscape. No experience is required, and you’ll only need a moderate level of fitness for this gentle paddle in the sheltered waters of Harrison Cove. You’ll be gently lifted in and out of the water on a specially designed platform, so it couldn’t be easier to experience kayaking!
Kayak trips will depart four times daily from the Milford Discovery Centre as part of a cruise, Discovery Centre, observatory and kayak ‘total Milford experience’ lasting between three and four-and-a-half-hours.
Cruise, Discovery Centre and Kayak combos depart 9am, 10:15am, 11:45am and 3pm daily. The complete trip takes approximately four-and-a-half hours including about an hour in the kayaks. Prices range from $169 to $189. For bookings and further information, see Southern Discoveries.
