The countdown is on for the 2010 Gay Ski Week NZ. Only eight days to go till the Southern Hemisphere’s biggest gay alpine party kicks off!

The eighth Gay Ski Week NZ will be held in the NZ ski resort of Queenstown from Saturday 4 September till Sunday 12 September and promises to be bigger than ever. It’ll all start with a massive Welcome Party right at Lake Wakatipu’s shores at Prime Restaurant & Bar, and the event calendar for the rest of the week is jam-packed. Of course you’ll have the chance to join in the Group Ski Days at New Zealand ski areas around the region. On 5 September the action focuses on Coronet Peak Ski Area, on 6 September the Group Ski Day will take place at Snow Park NZ, and on 8 and 10 September Cardrona Ski Area is the hot-spot. Get up to the mountain in style by booking the Pink Bus! And don’t forget to join in the Snow Gaymes. This year’s line-up of 'gaymes' includes Tubing at The Remarkables, a Costume Race, Dash for Cash and the infamous Undie Run.

Back in town, there are a number of parties waiting for you. Highlights include the Manhunt Buff Party at Melt Bar, the DNA Magazine Hot Pool Party at Oakridge Resort in Wanaka, the Cowboy Dinner at Sombrero’s Restaurant and the Retro Bowling and Pizza Night. Need to work on that six-pack? A great abs workout is to exercise your laugh muscles at the Topp Twins performance on 9 September at the Rydges Ballroom.

Finally, the Play Days are all about Queenstown’s adventure activities. On Tuesday 7 September and Saturday 11 September you can choose from an awesome range of group tours and go bungy jumping, skydiving, jet boating or sailing.

Many hotels in Queenstown are already fully booked, so get in fast if you don’t want to miss out on beds. Another option is staying in nearby Arrowtown or lakeside resort Wanaka, but even there accommodation will get limited. Save yourself the hassle of driving from one full hotel to the next by browsing our Queenstown accommodation section and conveniently booking online!
