Love is in the air – Valentine’s Day 2011 is coming up and New Zealand sure knows how to
spoil lovers.

For that extra-romantic dinner, New Zealand chefs have put their heads together to create delicious menus and many restaurants offer great deals. Celebrity chef Peter Gordon, for example, has come up with a six-course set menu at his Auckland restaurant dine, while fellow chef and cooking school owner Ruth Pretty has organised a Valentine’s Day French High Tea Party where you can enjoy Kir Royale and learn to prepare yummy morsels. Or why not book a romantic dinner cruise on one of New Zealand’s luxurious boats?

New Zealand’s top hotels have something up their sleeves as well for Valentine’s Day 2011. Book a special package to thoroughly pamper that special person – with all those Valentine’s Day deals you’re spoilt for choice. Heritage Auckland, for example, offers a luxury suite with free bubbles and fresh strawberries in chocolate sauce plus a bottle of sumptuous massage oil with the Heritage Hideaway Package, while Heritage Hanmer Springs awaits with a Romantic Runaway Deal which includes bubbles, chocolate truffles and free Hanmer Springs Thermal Pools passes. ‘Love is in the air’ at Heritage Christchurch, too. Here, you arrive to a bottle of Lindauer Special Reserve, chocolates and classic New Zealand Linden Leaves massage oil in your Deluxe Room. For details on these and other packages, check out www.heritagehotels.co.nz.

After a late check-out, keep the romance alive with special Valentine’s Day activities. How about a bungy jump with your Valentine? AJ Hackett Bungy New Zealand, for example, has great tandem deals for all lovebirds. If you’re after something more subdued, you might want to cuddle up with your sweetheart on a romantic Tranz Scenic train journey through New Zealand’s stunning landscapes, or listen to some live music.

Whatever option you choose, the destination-nz.com team wishes you a romantic day!
