Would you like to meet your favourite author? Do you love writing? Or are you simply a book worm? Then there’s an event you should mark in your diary: from Thursday 9 September till Sunday 12 September Christchurch will be a hot-spot for book lovers and writers as The Press Christchurch Writers’ Festival 2010 takes place.

The biennial celebration of books and authors is gearing up for its eleventh round and the line-up of events is impressive! Take your pick from book launches, poetry lunches, discussions, seminars and award shows. This year’s Christchurch Writers’ Festival will host writers from all over New Zealand as well as top international authors, and offers insight into a vast range of writing genres and subjects. The more than 50 events range from songwriting seminars and Survivor Poetry to talks covering crime, biography, travel, language and much more. With a line-up of 80 writers, poets, songwriters, journalists, thinkers, scientists and sportspeople there is something for every taste.
