The school holidays are just around the corner and The Court Theatre in Christchurch is making sure the kids have something special to look forward to.
The Court Theatre worked closely with popular New Zealand playwright Carl Nixon and director Elsie Edgerton-Till to make Margaret Mahy’s famous story The Great Piratical Rumbustification come alive on stage these school holidays!
In The Great Piratical Rumbustification, Oliver Terrapin is left alone with his babysitter for an evening as his parents go out. When it’s bedtime, it turns out however, that the babysitter doesn’t have any plans to put young Oliver to sleep. The babysitter happens to be a pirate and has different plans for the evening: he wants to take Oliver on a Great Piratical Rumbustification!
The Great Piratical Rumbustification opens on Monday 27 September and will play through the entire school holidays until Saturday 9 October. There will be two daily shows at 11am and 1pm (11am only on Saturdays), and tickets cost $8. You can book online or get your tickets by calling the Box Office on +64 3 963 0870. If you take your children, make sure they get ready for the big show and dress up in their best pirate costumes!
