PechaKucha Night at the Canterbury Museum

Posted by: Jeff the Kiwi – Advisor - 01 September 2010

It’s been three months since the last PechaKucha Night, but now the date for the ninth event at Christchurch’s Canterbury Museum has been scheduled for Thursday 16 September.

Now, if you’re wondering what on earth PechaKucha Nights are, here’s a quick introduction. The event, which originated in Tokyo, is an informal get-together where people share works, ideas, passions, quirky collections and more. The rule is that each presenter has to show his works in a unique rapid-fire format – each of his or her 20 images will be flashed for 20 seconds. This makes PechaKucha Nights snappy and fun and they’re already taking place in over 320 cities worldwide.

Doors open at 7:30pm and the PechaKucha Night starts at 8:20pm. $10 pre-sale tickets are available from the Museum Store but are limited so get in fast. To find out more, head to www.pecha-kucha.org or simply come along to experience PechaKucha first-hand!
