The approach to Queenstown Airport has been listed as one of the 10 most stunning airport approaches in the world – the only Southern Hemisphere airport to make the top 10.

Coming in at seventh place in a list compiled by private jet booking company PrivateFly.com and decided by votes from travellers around the world, the approach to Queenstown Airport was described as “Absolutely spectacular flying in over the mountains, lake and ski field – it literally takes your breath away.”

Another traveller commented: “The thrill of being so close to the craggy Remarkables mountains whilst on approach has never left me in the 25 years and many, many flights over this period. It is truly remarkable.”

Says Mr. Steve Sanderson, Chief Executive Officer of Queenstown Airport, “We already knew that Queenstown Airport is in one of the most beautiful spots in the world so it is terrific that it is now recognised internationally ... Nobody forgets the wonderful scenery when landing here whether it’s for the first time or the hundreth.”

Queenstown Airport is Australasia's fastest growing Airport and offers services with Air New Zealand, Mt Cook Airline, Pacific Blue, Jetstar and Qantas, with direct international flights to and from Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.

Take a trip to Queenstown and make up your own mind! Just make sure you book your Queenstown accommodation first, because this destination is clearly popular!
