More than 300 performers, six continents, 30 hours of music – WOMAD 2011 is going to be bigger than ever. Scheduled from 18 March till 20 March, WOMAD New Zealand 2011 will take place at New Plymouth’s Brooklands Park and TSB Bowl of Brooklands.

Get ready for music from Africa, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, the Americas, Australia and, of course, from New Zealand. Top Kiwi artists to perform at this year’s WOMAD include Paddy Free, Sola Rosa, the Topp Twins, Hamilton Country Bluegrass Band and Tami Neilson. And there is more. On top of 30 hours of (inter)national music WOMAD 2011 will feature Artists In Conversation, workshops, live cooking demonstrations, sustainable and global villages and a Kidzone.

New this year is the option for a WOMAD day trip from Palmerston North or Whanganui. For just NZ$149 you’ll get your return bus ride, entry to the festival and twelve hours of sights, sounds, art and craft, food and more from around the world. The bus departs from Palmerston North i-SITE at 8am and stops for a pick-up in Whanganui at 9:30am.

Tickets are on sale through Ticketek. Camping tickets and marae accommodation are available as well. For a full line-up and more details visit www.womad.co.nz.
