Hey, all you travellers out there! Not sure what to do next? Not sure about your NZ itinerary? Well, if you’re in the country between 25 June and 4 July you simply have to head to Queenstown. The city is gearing up for New Zealand’s biggest winter party, the American Express Queenstown Winter Festival, and you can be part of it. Click on the official Queenstown Winter Festival website for the low-down on all events taking place during the ten-day snow frenzy.

The Southern Hemisphere’s biggest winter party will be officially opened by Prime Minister Mr. John Key. This Friday Mr. Key will attend the free American Express Opening Party which kick-starts the festival from 6pm at Earnslaw Park.

From street parties with fireworks and comedy to international and local acts, a Big Air Invitational and plenty of Mountain Mayhem – you’re bound to have the party of a lifetime. While many events are entirely FREE you’ll have to pay admission for some gigs, and they are selling out quickly. So hurry to book your tickets! The same applies to accommodation. With an expected 60,000 visitors the city will be jam-packed, and many hotels are already fully booked. A good option is it to stay in neighbouring towns like Wanaka or Arrowtown even those places will be buzzing.

Plan your trip now so you can fully enjoy XXL events like night skiing, the Russian Vodka Party and Lindauer Masquerade Ball, ice hockey and brunches.

American Express Queenstown Winter Festival 2010: 25 June – 4 July
