Turoa Ski Area offers varied terrain and features both Australasia’s longest vertical descent and New Zealand’s highest lift, the six-seater “Highnoon Express”. The Alpine Meadow beginners’ area is adjacent to a tobogganing area for the kids, while 12 long, groomed intermediate runs and 25 black and black diamond runs alongside two spectacular lift-accessed backcountry areas mean that big mountain skiers will find an ever-changing range of natural terrain features to play on, and extensive on-mountain facilities include 4 excellent cafes dotted around the field.
