Looking for an excuse to visit Christchurch this summer? We have it in six words – Bread & Circus World Buskers Festival. Dates for this perennially popular festival have been announced as January 23 – February 16, and tickets are on sale for “champagne cabaret” show Blanc de Blanc in the always popular Spiegeltent.
Blanc de Blanc brings together the finest cabaret and acrobatic talent from around the world, serving a blend of vintage glamour, high-end spectacle and titillating acts to infatuate and delight. From the creative team behind the worldwide smash hits LIMBO and Cantina, Blanc de Blanc will hit Christchurch direct from a triumphant run at the Sydney Opera House and London’s West End.
LIMBO was part of the 2019 festival and wowed its Spiegeltent audiences, becoming one of the most attended ticketed performances in the Buskers Festival history, so there will be a lot of interest in what 2020’s Blanc de Blanc will bring. So get booking and don’t miss out.
Other Buskers Festival events confirmed are the ever popular galas in the Isaac Theatre Royal, and the immersive long-table dining event Feast of Fools, which will take place “at an iconic Christchurch location” yet to be announced.
The full programme of ticketed shows, world-famous busking pitches and large-scale spectacles will be announced later in the year.
Scott Maidment, director of festival organisers Strut & Fret NZ, says planning is in full swing.
“It’s a great summer festival and we’re looking forward to revelling in the sunshine. Some of the best international artists are coming and they’re getting ready to party with us in Christchurch. Stay tuned, this year will be epic.”
